We’ve passed on GST benefit to consumers” Amul MD says price cuts will help millions of consumers
On GST reforms implementation, Amul's MD Jayen Mehta said, "Yesterday, the PM spoke about the impact of the GST reforms on the country. At Amul, we are very happy to inform that we have actually passed on the entire benefit of GST reduction to all our consumers. The reduction in GST on ghee from 12% to 5%, similarly in butter and cheese from 12% to 5%, in ice creams from 18% to 5% will bring in big reduction in the prices of our products to the consumers. With the increase in demand, it will see a benefit passing on to millions of our producers in long term. We are thankful to the Govt for these fantastic reforms which has made nutrition affordable to the masses and providing an ensured source of livelihood to millions of milk producers associated with dairy industry..."
